Type K characteristics have been specifically designed for the protection of motor control circuits and items used within them. It has a very sensitive thermal curve, combined with a magnetic setting of 8 times the normal input current (In), which is high enough to avoid in-rush nuisance tripping, but provides good protection against over current conditions.
