Alpha Wire Ecoflex PUR Cable - Braided Shielding

The EcoFlex PUR range from Alpha Wire is an abrasion, UV and oil resistant cable due to its tough polyurethane jacket and mPPE insulation construction. The cable can handle extreme temperatures, contains zero halogens, plus it is smaller and lighter than its PVC equivalent. This multicore cable comes with braided shielding.

What is PUR and mPPE?

Cables sheathed in polyurethane are more flexible and can perform to higher standards than PVC making them a great choice for use in machinery and robotic applications. They are also abrasion, oil and flame resistant, plus free of halogen.
mPPE is a modified polyphenylene ether thermoplastic. Multicore cables containing mPPE have a smaller wall thickness than other cables due to their dielectric properties. The fact that the cables are lighter allows them to be used in many different applications. mPPE has a lower specific gravity compared to other jacket and insulation materials such as PVC and PE. This combined with the excellent dielectric properties allow the cables to be up to 65% lighter and thinner than conventional cables.

Is this cable environmentally friendly?

Unlike PVC, cables containing PUR and mPPE are halogen-free, contain no phthalates and are 100% recyclable and deemed to be environmentally friendly.

What is halogen-free?

If a cable is not made from materials that contain salt-forming fluorine, bromine, iodine or chlorine then it is defined as halogen-free.
