LAN9252 EtherCAT® Controller PICtail Add-On Board
The Microchip LAN9252 PICtail is an add-on board for investigating and developing the LAN9252 EtherCAT® Slave Controller with the Microchip Explorer 16 Development Platform. The board supports both HBI PDI and SPI/SQI configurations via a simple selector switch.
The LAN9252 is a 2/3 port EtherCAT® Slave Controller with dual integrated Ethernet PHYs, each of which contain a full-duplex 100BASE-TX Transceiver. The LAN9252 supports HP Auto MDI-X that allows the use of direct connect or crossover LAN cables. 100BASE-FX is supported via an external Fibre Transceiver. Included is a 3-port EtherCAT® Slave Controller with 4K of Dual Port Memory (DPRAM), 4 SyncManagers, 3 Fieldbus Memory Management Units (FMMUs) and a 64-bit Distributed Clock. The LAN9252 supports 4 Process Data Interfaces - SPI/SQI, HBI and a 16-bit Digital IO.
